The Sunday Times has revealed their favourite locations across the country to live in and Norwich featured among the top five.

The piece compared property spots in terms of their transport links, best roads to live on, whether there were decent pubs and how lively the social scene was.

Sunday Times writer, Tim Palmer, described Norwich as: “Everything you want from a city, enclosed in a neat, pretty little package.”

He said: “From the ancient pubs and the inescapable gaze of scores of church spires to the modern delights of serious coffee and cutting-edge restaurants, Norwich has the lot – and all within walking distance.

“The presence of about 80 estate agents, not including lettings, indicates that the city is in great demand – despite its relative isolation.”

The Golden Triangle was said to be the place to live, due to its “wedge of attractive Victorian houses” and the Northern Distributor Road was praised for making villages such as Thorpe St Andrew more “accessible”.

In summary, the property experts said they loved Norwich for being a small city with big ideas.
